Ways to deal with menopause symptoms

The menopause is a time of inexorable change and often also ailments that reduce the comfort and pleasure of life. Here is a short guide to menopausal ailments and their solutions.

1. Soothe vaginal dryness with intimate gel

As a result of the drop in estrogen levels, the moisture in the vagina and vulva decreases, which causes pain during intercourse, burning and redness. A good water-based intimate gel will help temporarily. It will moisturize the intimate areas and bring relief from dryness. Choose a product with a mild composition, rich in aloe or hemp seed extract.

2. Moisturize dry skin with cream and/or oil.

Reduced levels of estrogen and other hormones in the body also affect the skin. It loses elasticity, shows signs of aging, loses water more easily and becomes more sensitive. Rich creams and oils with rich formulas are a good solution. Ingredients to look out for include hemp seed oils, sweet almond oils, jojoba and aloe.

3. Control spotting and bleeding with pads

Before menopause, irregular bleeding and/or spotting may occur. After menopause, vaginal bleeding or spotting stops. Until then, you will need protection in the form of an absorbent sanitary product. This can be a panty liner – preferably made of organic cotton, free from fragrances and synthetic fibers.

4. You will reduce the risk of infection with washing liquid

The older the body, the greater the risk of intimate infections. This is due to, among other things, a drop in estrogen levels, a smaller number of lactic acid bacteria, and an increase in vaginal pH. Regular cleansing of intimate areas is an absolute must. When bathing or showering, reach for an intimate hygiene fluid (e.g. with lactic acid, aloe, and allantoin).
